Corrie Nielsen AW14

Corrie Nielsen blew the FROW away this season with her seductive Autumn/Winter’14 collection, Cradle of Humanity. The collection is ‘a manifestation of the designer’s passion for the human condition and human nature; the tiniest details that make up the individual’s soul, their essence’ and ‘is inspired by a woman’s self-sacrifice for love and emotion.’ By inextricably linking her choice of fabrics and colour to this theme, Nielsen effortlessly references the mythical characters at the heart of her inspiration and this line of thought.

Debuting a chic array of pieces from beginning to end, the collection showcased everything from Nielsen's signature contemporary structures to glittering sequined designs and fabulously luxe materials. We saw a lot of fresh peplum structures appearing amongst the voluminous rounded shoulders of her shifts and jackets, as well as the rounded, hipped skirts of some of her separates. Seduction played a key part in the collection - with glorious peek-a-boo sheer dresses taking to the floor, as well as shimmering fabrics and plunging necklines...

What can I say? Get red-carpet ready with Corrie Nielsen...
