With a bulging #LFW diary, one of the shows I was most excited about attending was Amanda Wakeley AW14 – and the collection did not disappoint. Showcasing a slick, empowering line that merged luxe leather and sheer black garments with feminine lines and structured tailoring, the designer brought to the table what could be the ultimate Bond girl’s wardrobe. Cinched in waists were detailed with space-age, Obi-style belts while Wakeley shifted the line’s aesthetic slightly with the insertion of some cool, printed, grey and white pieces (blurred in print, and top of the wish-list lust-wise) – perfect if you want a break in the mainly black colour palette. The collection is extremely wearable, and ideal for working from day to night; from boardroom to bar. And, my number one piece from the line? It’s got to be that amazing floor-sweeping, leather-sleeved coat – it’ll never go out of style.
