If you remember, I was completely besotted by the Georgia Hardinge x River Island Design Forum SS13 Collection. And, following its huge success, the high-street giant is pleased to announce that the collaboration with the designer is set to continue on for AW13. Once again Hardinge’s love for architectural shapes and sculptural design is recognisable in the dynamic silhouettes of the line, and the garments’ flawless delivery of style. Built to flatter the female form, the collection boasts curving fabric scales, sleek crop tops, flowing maxi skirts and hot-to-trot graphic printed leggings. For the designer, Hardinge see’s fashion as a way of moulding design techniques to create an art piece of lasting purpose (and, when it looks this good – who could say no?)
The AW13 line demonstrates the designer’s newly developed digital print, which involves a technique of folding paper books into sculpture. With a mainly muted monochrome colour palette, the collection dazzles with it’s high-voltage colbolt blue highlights in the form of sculpted, figure-hugging dresses and neoprene crop tops and skirts.
