SUPA DUPA FLY: Sophia Webster SS14

Sophia Webster – the shoe designer who needs NO introduction. When it comes to the designs of the celebrity-favourite, we’re like a kid let loose in a candy-covered shoe store. Webster reliably flaunts delightfully playful details matched with childhood lusts (think pastel-infused jelly shoes, cartoon clouds, beautiful bouquets, impish polka dots and frolicsome candy stripes and feather-light, lazer cut butterflies) – the possibilities are endless. AND, Webster’s Spring/Summer’14 collection is no exception to her signature, explosive style…

Inspired by the work of Japanese photographer, Mika Ninagawa, Webster introduces us to her fantasy-like world of florals, butterflies and clouds infused with intense, vibrant hues AND a surprisingly slightly darker, off-the-cuff design edge. The shoe designer’s signature style plays a significant part as usual throughout the line, including rollicking speech bubble phrases and sweet-shop jewels. Adorning the likes of sky-scraper stilettos, ‘killer heels’, jelly shoes, flat wedges and espadrilles, are appliqued flower garlands and hand-painted heart, stripe and polka dot prints – perfect for working against the fresh SS14 trends that hit the catwalk this September. Go on, indulge in an innovative collection that’ll spark inspiration and effortless style with each and every step. It’s Supa Dupa Fly.
