D.LO LONDON: SOCKS-alicious

If you’re looking for socks to knock your…er….socks off (so you can put these ones on), D.Lo London should be a key stop on your sock spending spree. Having launched this May, the brand has designed ten exclusive premium socks that flaunt playful and vibrant prints – with everything from insects and bold florals decorating their sumptuous sock extent. It’s definitely going to be a difficult choice when it comes to narrowing your sock choice down this season.

Stitched right here in England (in a factory in Nottingham) the unique length (perfect for pulling up over your sneakers if you so wish) and unisex sock status means that you and the boyfriend needn’t check whose socks are whose at 6am in the morning when you’re furiously multi-tasking and rushing for the train/car/bus/bicycle. And, considering they only retail for a mere £18 each (and arrive beautifully packaged) they’ll make the perfect Father’s Day present too.

GRADUATE FASHION WEEK: Tracing Light by Flaminia Mechoulam

Up next on my Graduate Fashion Week report? The delicate, whimsical collection from budding designer, Flaminia Mechoulam. Her collection, Tracing Light, showcased a poignant all-white catwalk display with the intricate use of layering and sheer materials. The show's caption, read like a poem in description...

'Like a drop hitting water that traces curves...
Chalky layers dance around the body...
Floating in the light.
A blurred femininity.'

...and, broke down the feel of the pieces into delectable bites. The thing I really loved about this collection was the dream-like thread that seemed to run through it. The first look (the long white trousers with sheer top) is completely wearable, and given the chance, I'd wear it in a minute (depending on the ol' British weather of course). It begs to be worn with a pair of your favourite tan sandals and highlighted with a pop of fluoro jewellery to celebrate the season with – think GUCCI, think Celine, think high fashion straight off the runway. Mechoulam didn't forget the accessories either – sitting FROW I had a clear view of the amazing footwear that she created to go with the collection. Sheer sandals with boho-style ties dominated the runway, and BOY did I want a pair by the time they'd left...

ASOS Africa Collection 2013

I've always crushed hard on ASOS’s Africa Summer’13 Collection – and this year is no exception. Amongst the cool, tribal prints, the pieces offer up ‘a heady mix of zingy chartreuse-and-monochrome designs’ (I tried rewording this, but there was no other way to state it better). The collection showcases everything from beautifully tailored jumpsuits, to fitted monochrome crop-tops, gorgeous knee-length dresses with intricate prints and layered shorts perfect for roaming the shops in. And, the best bit is, the ASOS Africa collection is created in collaboration with SOKO Kenya, allowing communities to establish sustainable business through local craftsmanship.
